Per la prima volta una raccolta dei singoli di Ella, divisa in due volumi che riflettono le tante sfaccettature della sua straripante personalità musicale.

Quando Ella Fitzgerald entrò per la prima volta in studio di registrazione nel 1956 per la Verve non fu per registrare il celeberrimo The Cole Porter Song Book: era stata convocata per quattro singoli. Ella, nei dieci anni che seguirono, a fianco dei suoi tanti e monumentali progetti discografici per l’etichetta, registrò infatti numerosi 45 giri.
