“La musica per film è uno dei rari territori in cui un compositore può scrivere liberamente, a patto che scelga i film e i soggetti più adatti alla sua personalità. Si impara a stabilire un rapporto con il regista basato sulla fiducia, in modo che ti incoraggi ad esprimerti in modo personale, ad essere diverso e ambizioso. Si tratta di collaborazione, prospettiva e convinzione”. Questo è il pensiero di Howard Shore, uno dei più innovativi compositori cinematografici contemporanei.

 

La celebrità è giunta quando Peter Jackson lo ha invitato a scrivere le musiche per la trilogia de Il Signore degli Anelli, seguita un decennio dopo da Lo Hobbit. Questi film di successo hanno fatto conoscere al pubblico di tutto il mondo la qualità della scrittura di Shore.

 

Un altro trittico musicale è stato creato nella primavera del 2023 alla Maison de Radio France di Parigi dove Howard Shore ha presentato tre concerti, due con l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (uno diretto da Ludwig Wicki, l'altro da Bastien Stil) e un terzo concerto più incentrato su composizioni sperimentali.

 

Questo triplo album deluxe in edizione limitata è la sintesi perfetta dei concerti di Parigi e presenta il ritratto di un compositore avventuroso dallo stile inconfondibile.
